    UNRWA is irreplaceable. It’s not just an aid agency. It provides education, healthcare, social services and protection for Palestinian refugees. @UNRWA promotes human development, dignity and rights until a just and durable solution is found. We must support & protect it.

    If implemented, the laws adopted today by the Knesset of Israel would likely prevent @UNRWA from continuing its essential work in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, with devastating consequences for Palestine refugees. I call on Israel to act consistently with its obligations

    It is with a heavy heart that I learned today of the passing of my respected predecessor, William Lacy Swing, in Kuala Lumpur. On behalf of IOM, I offer my sincere condolences to his family, particularly his wife Yuen, his son Brian and his daughter Gabrielle.

    The conflict in Northern Ethiopia has taken a heavy toll on civilians, especially women and children. Peace efforts need to be pursued urgently to avoid further deaths and displacement. We join @antonioguterres call on all parties to allow unimpeded delivery of needed relief.

    I am alarmed about verified reports of discrimination, violence and xenophobia against third country nationals attempting to flee the conflict in #Ukraine. Discrimination on the basis of race, ethnicity, nationality or migration status is unacceptable.

    Today, IOM joined the UN family to mark a moment of silence to honor and mourn colleagues who lost their lives on duty in Gaza. We stand tall with colleagues who continue to put their lives on the line everyday to provide humanitarian assistance. Humanitarians are #NotATarget
