- Vaccinating girls aged 9–14 could prevent 30–40% of cervical cancer deaths between 2015 and 2030. HPV vaccines work best if delivered prior to exposure to the virus. The World Health Organization recommends vaccinating girls aged 9–14, when most have not started sexual activity.
