The motion invoking cloture on the Social Security Fairness Act passed, 73-27! This will give retired firefighters, cops, teachers, and other public servants the #SocialSecurity benefits they paid into. I urge the Senate to continue voting YES & get this bill to the White House.

The US House voted 327-75 tonight to repeal the #WEP and #GPO, righting a wrong impacting millions of retirees. Thank you @RepSpanberger and @RepGarretGraves for fighting with us to ensure firefighters & other dedicated public servants get their full #SocialSecurity benefits.

Needless exposure to toxic 'forever chemicals' in our bunker gear has made too many of our brothers and sisters sick. For them, and for future fire fighters, we will pursue every avenue to get PFAS out of our protective gear.

Never was a fire fighter’s courage personified like it was on Sept. 11. We will always remember the heroism of the 343 FDNY members that died, the sacrifices they made so that others live. They remind us of our oath: others come first. May their lesson and memories always endure.

They were just like us; fathers, sons, brothers & friends. They went to work 19 yrs ago today & started their tour just like us, with no idea what fate had in store for them. 343 regular men who did extraordinary things. 343 humble souls who sought no fame & taught us how to die.

While responding to a fire earlier today in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, IAFF members were ambushed in a heinous act of violence. Two of our brothers were killed by a sniper, and a third brother remains in surgery. Please keep them, their families, and law enforcement in your prayers.

8 years ago today, a nine-alarm fire broke out at 298 Beacon Street in Boston. Two of our brothers were killed in the line of duty: Lieutenant Edward J. Walsh, 43 and Firefighter Michael Kennedy, 33. We will never forget their sacrifice and continue to pray for their families.
