Remarkable. And in such contrast to Boris "I'm still shaking everyone's hands" Johnson and Dominic "went for a drive to test my eyesight" Cummings. A relief to live in @WelshLabour led Wales.

- This needs to be more widely shared and understood. Councils and local public health teams in Wales are delivering rapid and effective contact tracing which is containing transmission and saving lives. Contrast with England, where the Tories' Private Sector-led system is in chaos
- I worked briefly on the Galileo programme in a previous job. Advanced European co-operation at its finest. This news isn't just sad, it's a monumental act of national self-harm #BrexitMajor blow as work on EUโs flagship satellite network set to move out of Britain after Brexit mirror.co.uk/news/politics/โฆ
- I fully support @DeAthCardiff's calls to remove Thomas Picton from City Hall. We will bring forward a Council Motion asap. But gestures aren't enough, so I'm also proposing a Task Force to work with Black Communities in Cardiff to establish what more we can do to support them.
- Pretty pitiful from @KirstyWark cracking a joke at 'unpronounceable' Welsh names. Not exactly cutting edge comedy is it ๐ so why not show Welsh the same respect you would any other language? Poorly judged by #HIGNFY scriptwriters, and I suspect Merton and Hislop thought so too
- We've ended up with exactly what Brexit was meant to rid us of: an unelected, unaccountable (& clearly unsackable) bureaucrat, who imposes rules on us whilst doing whatever he likes, all the while pocketing a massive salary at our expense. Both outrageous yet utterly unsurprising
- I visited @principalitysta today. Its transformation into Dragon's Heart Hospital is both deeply sobering and hugely impressive - a testament to the skill & dedication of @CV_UHB NHS staff, working in partnership with @cardiffcouncil, the military, and other partners.
- This went from a blank piece of paper on Thursday, to 12,500 packed lunches delivered today for our children on free school meals. Remarkable effort by Council staff - heroes every one of them #proudFree school meals have continued throughout #Cardiff today as 12,500 grab bags were delivered to schools. Thanks everyone for #workingforcardiff today and for keeping to social distance guidelines! @cardiffschmeals #workingforyou
- Delighted that a daughter of Cardiff's Tiger Bay, and Wales' first black Headteacher - Betty Campbell - will now have a statue in her honour in the middle of Cardiff; the first named female statue in the city, and the first of many I hope. Many thanks to all who made this happenโNo-one fought harder to celebrate our nationโs diversity than Betty Campbell.โ Now Walesโs first black head teacher will be immortalised in a statue at Cardiffโs Central Square after winning the Hidden Heroines Public Vote. bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-โฆ
- Returning to Twitter after a delightful few weeks off, the highlight of which was the safe arrival of Daniel R Thomas! Huge thanks to @CV_UHB NHS staff at the Heath for their world class care for him& my wife. Here he is with Tadcu @geraint_gr. Now, I've not missed much, have I?!
- So this morning, I checked twitter to discover that I'm trying to build an Army Museum on parkland in Cardiff. It was certainly news to me, but some people seemed very angry! Allow me to offer a bit of context, and bit of reality (thread)
- This video has rightly caused outrage, and understandably gone viral. It's also worth sharing the scene at 10am today- cleansed and restored thanks to amazing @cardiffcouncil staff. But our resources are stretched thin and could be put to far better use than having to do this
- Another @cardiffcouncil Cabinet meeting yesterday. You know what that means - another thread of Good news, starting with a personal update: the week started with the birth of our daughter Bethan Margaret Thomas. Mum and baby doing well - huge thanks to the NHS staff at the Heath.
- Grateful to the Cardiff Labour Group for re-electing me last night as their Leader. Back in the office now, getting on with the job of delivering the manifesto we were elected on.
