- 21st annual Scholar-Athlete winners are, from left, Barclay Briggs, Strake Jesuit, 1st; Anton Simieou, Pearland, 2nd; and Luke Pardee, Klein Cain, third. The TD Club awards scholarships yearly to 25 seniors, with these three getting the top three spots in the 2019 competition.
- Congrats to North Shore's football team, which took home two of the three awards for the 39th annual UIL High School Awards Dinner, presented by Houston Methodist Orthopedics & Sports Medicine. Defensive Player of the Year was LB Tony Bradford and Coach of the Year was Jon Kay.
- The winners from the TD Club's 43rd annual Memorial Hermann UIL High School Awards Dinner, presented by Gallery Furniture, were Seth Davis of Katy, Offensive Player/Year; Elijah Fields of North Shore, Defensive Player/Year; and Matt Meekins of Westfield, Coach/Year.
- TD Club of Houston's 38th annual UIL High School Awards Dinner names Ed Pustejovsky, Cy-Fair, as Coach of Year; @fb_westfield Koendre Coburn, Defensive Player of the Year; and Mustapha Muhammad, @RP_football , Offensive Player of the Year, on Dec. 13, at JW Marriott.
- Congrats to Victor Garza, who was named the Iron Man of the Year at the TD Club's annual Private High School Awards Dinner. Not only did Garza kick PATs, he kicked FGs, punted, and scored TDs as a receiver. He even played defensive back.
- Congrats to the 1st-place winners at today's Comerica Sportsmanship Luncheon, presented by the FCA. 1st, from left, in Class 4A-Private Schools was St. John's, coach Steve Gleaves; 1st in 6A was Klein Collins, coach Drew Svoboda; and 1st in 5A was Porter, coach Jim Holley.
- Micah Bell of Kinkaid won the 2022 Private School Offensive Player of the Year Award. He was given the plaque at the TD Club's Hildebrand Foundation Private High School Awards Dinner on Wednesday. Presenting the award to the Notre Dame commit is Kinkaid head coach Nathan Larned.
- Jordan Black of Fort Bend Christian was named Coach of the Year by the TD Club at the Hildebrand Foundation Private High School Awards Dinner on Wednesday. Presenting the award were last year's winners-Erik DeHaven of John Cooper School, left, and Kris Hogan of Cypress Christian.
- Baylor coach Matt Rhule will speak to the TD Club at 7:30 p.m., Tues., July 17, at the JW Marriott, 5150 Westheimer. Tickets are $50 each and can be purchased through PayPal at touchdownclub.org. Rhule will talk about what Bear Nation could expect this year in Waco.
- St. Pius X QB Grant Gunnell, center, celebrates being named Co-Offensive Player of the Year at the TD Club's annual Greater Houston Private High School Awards Dinner on Wednesday. Lighter than air with Gunnell after the event are WR Chase Lane, left, and RB Trent Waggoner.
- Congrats to the winners of the TD Club's 2021 Hildebrand Private High School Awards Dinner -- Offense, Dillon Bell, Kinkaid; Defense: Everett Skillern, Second Baptist; Lineman: Beau Edwards, Episcopal; Ironman: Cameron Henry, Kinkaid; and Specialist: Nick Hatch, Lutheran South.
