Schools of all sizes need to find coaches willing to share athletes making it possible for them to play multiple sports! These seniors are 189-33 in baseball, 102-4 in basketball & have been to state 7 times in the 2 sports. This success would not happen without sharing athletes!

This crazy kid plays a basketball game at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in Sioux Falls. Rides a bus 4 hours home to Fayette. Hops into the van with his mother and they drive through the night so he can pitch in Rolla, Missouri this afternoon. Truly one of the most dedicated athletes I know!

If you were one of the wonderful children that helped TP this yard, you did a great job! We would love to return this phone to the rightful owner! Feel free to knock on the front door after the yard is squeaky clean and we will return it to you! Thank you so much! #suckstobeyou

First time in over 5 years I will be coaching without my dad right there beside me! First time in over 55 years he won't be on the sideline coaching anywhere! What a career and what a man! 917 wins and touched the lives of thousands. I love you dad and wish you were here tonight!

Why do so many coaches quit coaching? Because coaches take constant criticism & yet many of those who are criticizing them can't find one fault in their own child! Players who commit to doing the right thing on & OFF the field are much more important to winning than coaches are!!

Congratulations to the winningest coach in Iowa on his retirement from boys basketball. Although I am sad to see my dad retire, I am blessed to have had the opportunity to spend the last five years coaching with the best coach I have ever known. So proud of you and love you! #917

Hopefully everyone appreciates the hard work the @IHSAA and @IGHSAU have done to make the Iowa baseball and softball state tournaments possible. Countless hours have been put in to make it happen! Very few know how much work goes on behind the scenes by so many people. Thank You!

Do you want to know what makes these seniors special? How about the fact that they got off the bus after losing the state championship baseball game and all 3 guys are working out in the weight room & the gym to prepare themselves for college basketball and baseball! #lynxcountry

Won't ever forget playing baseball in the backyard with these two every night after work. Wish those times could have lasted forever! Proud of their success on the field, but more proud of the young men they have become off of it. Very different boys with the same goals & values.

Way too many coaches forget the number one reason kids play sports is to have fun! You can have high expectations, hold kids accountable & still make the sport fun. Yes winning is fun, but kids should enjoy the sport win or lose. If you don't notice the smiles, make some changes!

Parents can forget their role in the success of a team is very important. Criticizing coaches or players will have a negative affect on a team. You don't have to like everyone to be successful, but you do have to support them! Glad to be at a school where parents understand that!

Congrats to Jake Hilmer for setting the career scoring record for North Linn at 1,771 points and counting. Proud to be the father & coach of this humble young man that is such a great role model on & off the court! He couldn't have done it without his teammates through the years.

Congratulations to Bob Hilmer @IHSAA getting his 900th win tonight! One of the most respected boys basketball coaches in Iowa & the only boys coach in Iowa history to reach the milestone. An awesome coach & an even better man! So much fun coaching with him the past several years!

In my 28 years of education I've heard hundreds of people say, "I wish I would have worked harder in sports & academics in high school & college!" Yet to hear one person say, "I wish I would have partied more in high school & college!" Reach your potential by doing what is right!
