Traffic Officer, Dave Harford, received a Personal Impact Medal at the Highways Heroes awards for the work he’s been doing to promote road safety 🏅. He was nominated after giving a speech at the Stamp it Out summit 👏. Here he is at the awards ceremony!

- We're hoping to reunite a lost giraffe with his owner (we've called him Geoffrey but we'd love to know his real name). He was found on the #M5 northbound between J1 and the #M6 J8 just after 8.30 this evening. Please call us on 03001235000 if you can help. #Lostgiraffe.
- Good news story for the day Our Traffic Officers have just attended a coach which was believed to have broken down. However upon arrival one of the passengers was in labour. We assisted in moving the coach to safe area whilst the Ambulance Service helped deliver a baby girl 👶
- Look what we caught! Our @HighwaysWMIDS #TrafficOfficers rescued this Tiger Shark overnight from the #M6 J6 (#A38), if anyone has lost this and would like to claim it pls get intouch with us. In the meantime we've called him 'Fin' and will look after it.
- Have we got a Ducktale for you! @HighwaysWMIDS #TrafficOfficers managed to rescue these 6 adorable Ducklings from harm trying to cross the M5 today. It was our absolute pleasure to ensure these little ones were safe.
- 3 (of 4) lanes are closed on the #M5 in #Worcestershire southbound between J4A and J5 due to a collision involving an overturned vehicle. Traffic Officers are in attendance. Delays are building, please allow extra time for your journey.
- The overnight bridge works on the #M6 between J14 - J15 completed this morning and the road re-opened at 07:00 ahead of schedule with thanks to all involved and their hard work. 2 x piers remain in place and are safe to drive under. These will be removed in a few weeks. Thank you

- Motorists in the Midlands have been able to snatch a first glimpse of a pioneering cone-laying vehicle that will eliminate the need for workers to do the job from the back of a truck. The automated cone laying vehicle has undergone trials on the A5 and M54.
- The #M6 is blocked in both directions between J15 and J16 #StokeonTrent Cows have found their way onto the carriageway and represent a significant risk to traffic. We are in the process of securing them. There are long delays in both directions.
- M6 J10 UPDATE: We are now beginning to de-rig “the beast” – expected completion by 2pm. Then expect a slow moving 6x vehicle convoy south on the M5 as the crane heads home to the West Country.
- If anyone has lost their teddy bear on the #M6 between J15 #StokeOnTrent and J14 #StaffordNorth, our traffic officers have picked this up. Please get in touch.
