- Well what a sight that is! There are still large patches of fog across the #SouthWest, including across the #M4 and #M48 #SevernBridges. Have a great day! #SafeTravels
- From Highways England South West, we'd like to say a big thank you to all NHS staff, all frontline workers and to all key workers across the UK. #ClapForCarers #ClapForNHS #StayHomesSaveLives
- #M5 J19 #Portishead to J20 #Clevedon southbound- there is currently a cow in the main carriageway, we've stopped all traffic south and will be stopping the traffic northbound shortly, please follow all signs and signals.
- 👀 This poor gantry has had quite the week! 🏗️ On Saturday night, we successfully removed it from the M5 between junctions 17 and 18 so that it can be taken away, assessed and repaired after it was damaged last week 🤞🏻It’s now on the road to, what we hope is, a full recovery🤕
00:00 - We are encouraging people not to travel in the SW between 8pm today (1 March) and 2am tomorrow (2 March) | We are working around the clock to keep everyone safe on the network but in line with the Met Office Red Alert, & for safety reasons, the advice is not to travel #WeatherSW
- Replying to @HighwaysSWEST*Update* #M5 J19 #Portishead to J20 #Clevedon southbound- The cow has now safely returned to a field and is clear of live lanes, thank you for your patience during this high steaks incident.
GIF - We're not 100% sure why but traffic volumes on the strategic road network in the South West have significantly dropped in the last 20 minutes. There may be an event on somewhere. If you are still travelling then the roads are wet so please drive to the conditions. #itscominghome
- There is alot of congestion on the #M5 today due to multiple serious incidents. This does not however provide anyone with the ability or excuse to go through roadwork closures, or go down the road the wrong way #RoadSafety
- Some Sunday Highways trivia for you, this section of road on the #M5 is commonly known as the "spilt levels" but can anyone tell us the official name and the year it was built? Pic courtesy of Bristol Live
- This morning our traffic officer Lou rescued a #TawnyOwl from the hard shoulder of the #M5 near #Gloucester. Our thanks to the response from Barn Owl Centre (@BarnOwlCentre) in Gloucester. We were able to call on the charity for help and they attended very quickly.
