    Lots of great causes & events these days, but @BQQuinn heard about our Vietnam vets breakfast and reached out to us offering to be a part of it. He did a great job of emceeing and made us proud he's a Staten Islander. Thank you Q and our Borough Hall team!

    Today in Y6 we looked at poems that could be read forwards & backwards. I was stunned by this one written by one of my 10 year olds. Please share - I would love her work to be appreciated further afield. I wonder if it could even find a publisher?

    I won’t be marching in Sunday's St. Patrick's Day parade. I wanted to, and thought I could reconcile my call for inclusion with still marching, but internally I cannot. No disrespect is intended towards anyone, including colleagues who will march.

    I'm so fucking tired of hearing about fairness and equity and all the while seeing my borough treated as it has been by this Administration over the last three weeks. Chasing supplies, chasing communication about supplies...no medical staffing help. Fairest big city in country???

    There have been 34 Covid deaths at SI University Hospital on Staten Island since November 1st. Of those, 20 have come in the last 7 calendar days.

    "Fucking awesome" -- that's how someone who doesn't often use profanity just described to me the doctors, nurses, and health care staff at Staten Island University Hospital. Indeed. Thank you to all of your heroes at SIUH, @RUMCSI and hospitals across this city and nation.

    This policy of closing a school because of 2 unrelated Covid cases is pushing parents to the brink. There has to be a better way.
