Cal Quantrill makes a lot of sense for Boston.
ERA @ 3.50 over 90 IP. Doesn’t throw a 4-seam fastball, misses lots of barrels, very Andrew Bailey. Late bloomer @ 29 years old—team controlled thru 25’. Won’t be cheap but won’t break the bank. Back end SP.
Garrett Crochet’s final start of the 2025 regular season:
8 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 6 Ks
Fitting he dominates a division leader with ease to put a bow on a dominant first season in Boston.
Kid’s not MLB ready. Sure he’s hitting .325 but why not .335? And his OPS isn’t even at 1.000 yet. If anything he needs more reps in AAA. I mean, this HR barely would’ve made it into the 22nd row at Fenway.
Anyway, can’t wait to see Trevor Story hit today.
