In 1973 CA had roughly 23 million people. In 2021 CA has around 40 million people. We have built no new water storage. The voters demanded new water storage at the ballot box. Still no new water projects.

Today, my Republican colleagues & I attempted once again to vote on a measure that would suspend the 51 cent-per-gallon Gas Tax in California. In the end, a vote on the measure was blocked by the Majority Party & the motion was tabled for a later hearing.

I’m humbled by the support of our current Assembly GOP Leader and all our colleagues, as well as the outpouring of kind words I’ve received these last 24 hours. It will be an honor to serve as GOP Leader starting after the end of this current legislative session in September.

The somber news of @TomBerryhill’s passing should cause us all to reflect on his lifetime of public service. A fmr State Senator, Assemblymember & County Supervisor, he was a champion for our Ag & local water rights. He served the people and place he loved most of all, his home.

    CA’s unemployment system: rated 5/5 ⭐️ by criminals; 1/5 ⭐️ by law-abiding citizens.

The facts are that @elonmusk, @SpaceX & @Tesla are vital contributors to CA's economy. (& #AD12's economy) Companies moving to other states should be a wake-up call. #caleg should be asking why? Instead many have decided to attack & scorn. It's harmful & counterproductive to #CA.

Dear @mantecabulletin, I am not terming out & I am not running for congress in 2022. I still have 6 years left before terming out & I am happy to continue to fight for our region & communities right where I am - in our State Assembly.

They told us to wear team colors for HR 80 today, so that’s what I did. My condolences to all the Dodgers fans.

Californian voters passed a $2.7 billion water bond & only 150 million of that has been spent and none of it on storage. It is a literal outrage and the time to build is now.

I am vaccinated, I believe the vaccine was the right choice for me. However, mandatory vaccinations are simply unconstitutional. I do not support forced vaccinations at any level of government. I will always support local control over big government control.

My bill, AB 1892, to streamline the warrant process for investigating child predators, just passed the Assembly Public Safety Committee.

The failure of our governor on water infrastructure is systemic to all his leadership failures all Californians have felt during the Covid crisis. It is time to end one party rule in CA.

This morning we tried to bring up SB 14 (Grove) child sex trafficking bill to the Assembly floor for a vote and were blocked by a procedural motion. The good news is (as we speak) SB 14 just passed the Assembly Public Safety Committee. It was a messy process, but a good outcome.
JUST IN: Democrats in the Assembly move to hold hearing immediately after session to hear child sex trafficking bill SB 14. Republicans counter with motion to immediately bring the bill to the floor
