- You ever notice a bit of fluid around the petrous and cervical internal carotid artery? Those are lymphatic channels that drain the brain to cervical lymph nodes. doi.org/10.1111/jon.13…
- These are trochlear calcifications. I often see these misinterpreted (eg, fracture or foreign body). They are an incidental finding of no clinical consequence. I would not even report it.
- The most common nerves involved in perineural tumor spread in the head are CN VII and V, followed by CN XII. In cancer cases, inspect at their courses and skull base foramina. jnm.snmjournals.org/content/60/3/3… jnm.snmjournals.org/content/jnumed…

- In a simulation test of competency for junior radiology residents preparing for call, all of >100 junior radiology residents failed to diagnose retropharyngeal suppurative lymphadenitis. Distinguish it from retropharyngeal abscess or edema by location! widi.xray.ufl.edu/files/2016/10/…
- The craniocervical junction consists of the occiput, C1, and C2 and a complex of ligaments and membranes that makes it pathoanatomically distinct from the subaxial cervical spine. intechopen.com/chapters/58783
- The cervical spine alignment is highly position-dependent. Don't read into the 'loss of lordosis' on a static, supine CT or MR.
GIF - The most common sites for superior semicircular canal dehiscence are the arcuate eminence (59%), medial descending limb (29%), and then lateral ascending limb (8%). Look on Pöschl plane to define the defect in relation to the tegmen downslope or upslope. doi.org/10.3389/fneur.…

00:00 - This is not Virchow's node. Notice the low CT density. If you scrolled to the top, there would be a tubular structure coming out of it; at the bottom, it touches the confluence of subclavian v. and IJ. This is a focal dilation of the distal thoracic duct. doi.org/10.2214/AJR.05…
- This anatomic variant of the craniovertebral junction, called an epitransverse process–paracondylar process pseudoarticulation, is often incidental but can reduce range of motion or cause head/neck pain. Case courtesy of Dr Yair Glick, @Radiopaedia doi.org/10.53347/rID-5…
