#OnThisDay in 1945, Soviet soldiers liberated Auschwitz-Birkenau, the largest Nazi concentration and extermination camp. Approximately 1.1 million people were murdered at Auschwitz-Birkenau, and over 90% of them were Jewish. We now mark this day as #HolocaustMemorialDay. #OTD

Today is #HolocaustMemorialDay - the international day to remember all those murdered during the Holocaust, under Nazi persecution of other groups, and in genocides that followed in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia and Darfur. Let's learn from the past for a better future. #HMD2022

We are appalled to see Laurence Fox's vile tweet this morning with abhorrent use of the swastika. Gay men experienced untold suffering under the Nazis, including murder, castration and medical experimentation.

This month marks 28 years since the genocide in Bosnia, when around 8,000 Muslim men and boys were murdered in Srebrenica. The genocide in Bosnia is the largest incidence of mass-murder in Europe since World War Two.

For #LGBT + History Month we have created this short film about the Nazi persecution of gay men, lesbians and trans people. An estimated 10-15,000 men who were accused of homosexuality were deported to concentration camps. Most died in the camps, often from exhaustion. #LGBTHM
