- We are excited to announce a $2M financing round led by @HelloStillmark and @blocks as we use bitcoin mining to increase energy access across Africa and further distribute and secure the bitcoin network. gridlesscompute.com/2022/12/06/gri…
- 1600 families connected to this remote hydro minigrid in the mountains of southern Malawi. They have 50kW of stranded energy that we are testing out as a new Bitcoin mining site. Videos for context. Still working on venting, wiring, etc.

00:00 - We’ve been working with mini-grid hydro generators in Kenya on how to use their excess capacity for Bitcoin mining, which also significantly reduces the cost of power to the local community. Small <100kW sites now, working towards 500kW soon.

- We’ve got 32 miners running now in Malawi, a nice small site that has 3 powerhouses and provides electricity to 1890 households. We balance out the grid by using their stranded energy. Bitcoin mining isn’t sexy, but it sure makes a difference in everyone’s lives!
