When MoveOn and Harvard University smeared the #ADOSAF, no one in "progressive" independent media wanted to cover it, except for Graham. Many were even riding the train of student forgiveness closing the Black wealth gap...a lie. Ironic, how these insights are just coming out.

This post is lacking context here. Ppl love to say that the city of Detroit is messed up because it’s majority Black. But Black ppl didn’t set up its pension system, Black ppl didn’t set up the city charter and the tax system. Also, Black ppl didn’t make the decision to center…

The economics of the city on only ONE industry. Black ppl didn’t make any of these decisions. Detroit, like other rust belt cities felt the economic impact of manufacturing jobs being outsourced overseas, and how it dealt a major hit to blue collar workers. Not Blk occupancy.

The problems of cities like Detroit existed long before Blk ppl came along and increased their numbers in such places. Nobody thought to replace those manufacturing jobs because nobody cared. Detroit is a case study in Blk ppl inheriting issues that white ppl have left behind.

Do not think for a second that the conditions of cities with majority Blk populations like Detroit is just because of them, they are political. During reconstruction, states were given money & grants to build & improve living conditions. But the ppl giving the funds were white…

And thus, more economic opportunities were given where the race/ethnic majority in places was white, so they had more opportunities to stabilize their communities, which ultimately left Black ppl & their communities with little to nothing.

I don’t remember where I read it, but it was said that about 50% of white households today are products of the homestead act, which black ppl were excluded. Factor in red lining, the loss of land, employment & compensation disparities…you’re competing against the government.

The craziest thing about this discussion is that you have black people fighting harder to prove and validate her blackness than she will advocate for black people specifically if elected. That’s the disconnect for some, I’d imagine.
