This morning I sewed this scrub cap. This afternoon I wore it while I sewed skin following a cholecystectomy (gallbladder surgery).

A little late, but happy #internationalwomensday
Yes, I am a DO student doing my clinical rotations at a very rural community hospital, but yesterday I put in a central line by myself from start to finish (with very close supervision, of course). #DOproud#gensurgmatch2023
Today I scrubbed in to and held retractors for a six hour ortho case and never broke sterile field. Oh and I wore lead the whole time. Currently feel invincible 😍 #MedTwitter#surgery#orthotwitter
S/o to the ortho I’m working with who introduced me to pts “this is Grace she’s a med student.” One immediately asked “what type of nursing” so he started saying “this is Grace, she is a med student about to become a doctor and will be starting general surgery this summer.” 🙌🏻
How’s my first sub-I going, you ask?
Well, yesterday I couldn’t find my stethoscope after a trauma and it was found on a helicopter. I have never been on a helicopter in my life. 😅
My favorite is when I preround on patients at 530 and they say “do you have a minute? I’d love you show you a picture of my dog.” 🥹
I ALWAYS HAVE A MOMENT FOR PET PICS
I've been out of college five years now and found out I matched into general surgery yesterday. Last night had a dream I missed an entire year of cross country practice and was still expected to compete at conference. Does it ever end 😅
Officially done with interviews for #gensurgmatch2023 !! If you need me, I will be hibernating until match day.
(just kidding I still have to go to work)
