Interesting: At 9 Jan/0450 UTC China Coast Guard ship 5205 left Mischief Reef and cruised northeast toward Reed Bank where it loitered for ~13 hours from 1010-2300 before continuing to NE. From 10/0510-0940 it cruised south ~70nm west of Palawan before returning to Mischief Reef.

Curious. The #China Coast Guard usually keeps 1 ship on patrol near the #Philippines' outpost at 2nd Thomas (Ayungin) shoal, together with maritime militia. But for the 1st 7 days of Feb (incl. during U.S. @SecDef Austin's visit to Manila) it had 3 ships operating in that area.
