I've finally put pen to paper about the Mets' offseason. My first article in four years. I hope that you'll take a few minutes to read it over on @GoodFundies on Medium, which still exists. Happy to discuss.
The Mets have just had what is objectively the best, most fun, and downright historic ten day stretch in franchise history, and perhaps even MLB history. Lindor's home run last night, as incredible as it was, was not the biggest moment. I'm taking a crack at ranking them here 🧵
Wilpons in 2015: Zack Wheeler, you need to buy your own ticket if you want to come to the game.
Cohen in 2024: Here's a free block party, light shows during the game, fireworks, pyrotechnics for player introductions, and we're gonna have Mets legends everywhere.
I am going to be losing my mind in 2037 when Lindor is up for the Hall of Fame and talk radio goons are like “not enough All Star games or Gold Gloves for me dawg,” and I hope you are all here with me.
Remember this, Mets fans: they are mocking all of this year's fun because they know Mets fans are the best and most passionate in baseball. We had more fun this year than anyone, and every other fanbase and soulless media conglomerate is jealous of it.
