I’ve seen some remarkable cricket moments in my life but that is the best I’ve seen in over 50 years. @benstokes38 saved the Ashes and gave a magical inspirational innings. Even better than his World Cup performance. Well done @ECB_cricket

Just to let everyone know my Father, Geoffrey, has successfully come out of surgery this evening after a 3 hour operation to remove his throat cancer. Yet to see him but surgeon says it went well. He asked that I post an update - @BabyBoycs

Well done, terrific batting Joe Root and Joe Denly, gave us back some pride & just a sniff of a chance of victory. Thank you. Still difficult to win but not impossible, records are meant to be broken. Good luck @ECB_cricket

... 2/2 I have supported our Club for 55 years & I was delighted to be a guest at the POTY Awards but I won’t lie about this year’s football. I have loved @ManUtd through good and bad times, and will continue to but I don’t look at everything through red coloured spectacles!

When MUTV requested an interview at the Player of the Year Awards I don’t believe my answers were untrue or unfair. The newspaper headlines are at it again making out I slagged people off. Please listen to the whole interview & not just the comments in certain newspapers... 1/2

1/2 I would like to thank @bbctms @BBCSport for a wonderful 14 years. I have thoroughly enjoyed it and just love cricket with a passion. I also wish to thank all those that have said how much they have enjoyed my commentary and for those that haven’t- too bad.

Thank you all for the well wishes, we’ve been blown away by the sheer number of them! Unfortunately things have taken a turn for the worse and my Father has developed pneumonia and is unable to eat or drink so is back in hospital on oxygen and a feeding tube for the foreseeable.
