Algorand 4.0 (with support for Consensus Incentives) is now released! github.com/algorand/go-al…
Just want to express gratitude to @jannotti on the technical side for driving this throughout and to all of the folks that helped us test, provided feedback, communicated with partners,
Vitalik, can you elaborate on no economic finality? Algorand blocks are finalized as soon as the threshold percentage of the online stake votes to approve the block.
Algorand 3.16 consensus upgrade binaries are now out in the wild - for those interested, here's what's next:
1. Voting periods (for protocol upgrades) last 10k rounds currently - participating online stake approves the upgrade.
2. Nodes representing at least 90% of the online
Hi community, a brief update on Incentives:
Incentives are a significant change that requires us to proactively mitigate risks to prevent proposer theft, bad behavior that could attempt to stall the chain, as well as making sure the correct amount of an available reward is paid
Folks, there is a consensus release going out today. For those familiar, it takes 150,000 rounds AFTER 90% of online stake votes for it to go into effect...IOW, next week at some point.
The breakdown on this release and the bigger picture should be out broadly next week per our
(1/2) Self-sustainability of the Algorand protocol is the path we are paving: incentives/p2p communication/ dynamic round-times w/ instant finality + the high TPS network.
And now the efforts Foundation is driving to support native Python for smart contract development as well!
Appreciate the effort and thoughtfulness the community put in this week around pushing mainnet TPS.
The chain itself is doing great, and I’d argue any of the apps/uis that struggled briefly were likely just underprovisioned (saving $ for months/years when beefier hardware was
Folks, we have seen A LOT of evidence over a broad swath of high value wallets that this was NOT a phishing attack but in fact a vulnerability for non-hardware backed wallets on @myalgo_ . Please heed theirs, mine and many others recommendations to rekey or move your assets ASAP.
The upcoming #Algorand release leans in hard to developer experience (thank you for ALL of the feedback thus far)! github.com/algorand/go-al…

Folks running indexer v3/conduit (which should be anyone needing an indexer at this point): check out the recommended minimum deployment specs here: github.com/algorand/index…
If we happen to see sustained higher TPS on mainnet this week, may need to raise this further based on
The protocol cleared the 90% upgrade vote threshold 2 hours ago - State Proofs, AVM randomness support, sub-4 second finality, 6k TPS Max and more will be in effect next week. #algorand
