    Being part of #TeamCanada means helping each other when we can. As nine health care workers from Newfoundland and Labrador head to Ontario this morning to help with COVID-19 relief - including my wife, Dr. Allison Furey - we are all proud of their commitment. Thank you!

    This is my beautiful, brilliant wife Dr. Allison Furey. She’s been working in the COVID Assessment Unit, so got her COVID-19 vaccine today. Every day, she sets an example to be proud of — and I am who I am thanks to her love and support.

    Our friends in Ontario are going through some tough times with COVID-19. I’ve just talked to Premier @fordnation about the severity of the situation, offering help from Newfoundland and Labrador. We will get through this, together, but we must all follow public health advice.

    I continue to stand up for Newfoundlanders and Labradorians against the federal carbon tax. I am now asking Ottawa to pause its planned increase to the carbon tax, set for April 1st, as the high cost of living is enough of a burden on families. The full letter is here:

    When the call went out for vaccination support, I was happy to put up my hand. This COVID-19 booster clinic for current and retired public service employees and their families at the Confederation Building did 586 people yesterday, and we hope to do the same today.
