Anyone else feel like it is outrageous for @ShopprsDrugMart to charge $45 per rapid antigen tests when [1] they are needed now more than ever, and [2] they are, uh, free for the public ?!

The available data suggest that among 5 million people who received the AZ vaccine, 30 developed a blood clot. So, 30 in 5 million. Our research team has shown that among those with COVID about 2% developed a blood clot. So about 100,000 in 5 million. cmaj.ca/content/193/1/…

Done 2 weeks on the wards. Below is a thread of 1 pagers for common stuff you will see on GIM. First: a one page summary on infections. Pearl: 5-7 days of abx is often the right answer, except for infections that “hide” (eg, endocarditis, osteomyelitis) which req 4-6wk. 🧵 1/9

I’m coming up on 5 years of locuming in the @SaultAreaHosp and i've loved every minute of it. What follows is a brief thread on what I’ve learned and why it is so incredibly important that trainees spend time outside of downtown tertiary care hospitals during their training. 1/9

.@CBCToronto i love your frontline hero series. Please feature these resident docs @JulietteDupre, Anh Nguyen, @bernarddho. None are internal medicine residents, they volunteered to look after patients with COVID19 on a long-weekend. If that is not a hero, i don't know what is

I received an MD and PhD (epidemiology) from @UofT. Based on everything I've learned as a result of this terrific education, we must implement social distancing. Please reconsider your decision to continue classes. CC: the 91,286 students @UofT
