Scenes at Lisbon airport. Not for a football team - for their rugby team.

‘Peak’ train to London almost empty - I count 5 people in this carriage which has 75 seats. Might be because it’s £370 return. Disgrace. Keep the pressure on for #fairfares@AndyBurnhamGM⁩ .

Just finished re-run of Boks v Lions. Finn Russell restored my faith in the sport. If you don’t like what he does, find another game, because rugby is not for you…

Personal favourite Warne memory - at The Oval, 2005. Bantering with England fans by the boundary, they were giving him plenty but then started huge chant of ‘we only wish you were English’. He turned, doffed his hat, little bow, close to tears.

New Zealand 102 Tonga 0. Sad. Something has to change. Test rugby needs more depth of competitive nations. More must be done to level up the game. Time for an eligibility ‘amnesty’ to aid island teams. Let Charles Piutau and others play for Tonga. Stop protecting the status quo.

Twickenham felt like it was going to fall down when that shot went over. The stands were genuinely shaking. Total bedlam. Best scenes here for a long, long time. Astonishing. #Slammed

The game isn’t played in super bloody slow motion. Rugby is going to be ruined by punishment for accidents. Arms by his side, trying to twist away as he realises head contact coming a split-second before it happened.

It is impossible to exaggerate how much more interesting Test rugby is now that France are a force again.

Few follow-up stats from Sale v Leicester game yesterday. Audience peak of 700,000+ on ITV1 (still to be officially confirmed). And today Sale have seen a 1,000% rise in online searches for the club compared to the previous week + a massive surge in ticket sales.

England 15 Ireland 32 is not a fair reflection of that classic Test. Hosts ran out of steam but for a long time their 14 men were heroic. Itoje, Genge and George were astonishing. Irish scrum annihilated. But red card eventually caught up with England.

Promotional poster in Auckland, featuring a slight ‘typo’… 😬

    Game over. Game ruined. Farce.

Antoine Dupont named Six Nations Player of the Championship after receiving 46% of votes. First Frenchman to win the award. The class act in an increasingly classy France team.

On the way to Twickenham for what is set to be a glorious occasion and can’t help thinking it should be a proper, prime-time national event. TNT Sports invest heavily in rugby and cover it very well, but it’s a shame that #ENGvNZ won’t be watched by millions today.
