- I 5-bet jam 500K with KK, villain calls with KK. 4 spades hit the board, and I am out of the @WSOP #MainEvent #trailblazerpokertour #tch #tchsocial, #texascardhouse, #hijackpoker
- I am sad to have just learned of the passing of the greatest poker player ever, #DoyleBrunson. His accomplishments dwarf mine, and it is a great honor to share with him the title of World Champion. One of the few times I got to play with him, the 2004 Tournament of Champions.
- at the airport, flying to Vegas to compete in the online bracelet events. can't believe how many idiots and assholes are here, either not wearing a mask, or wearing it down (not covering nose and/or mouth). don't be a dick, wear your mask, or stay home!
- I flopped a set, villain turned a straight, but I rivered a full house, 384K on first break Day 3 @WSOP #MainEvent #trailblazerpokertour #tch #tchsocial, #texascardhouse, #hijackpoker
- I just sat down, playing day 1b id the @WSOP #MainEvent. Quite likely to crush it today, as I'm wearing my father's day gift from Sophie. ;-)
- Got AA at the right time, when the 45K stack had QQ. Day 1b is in the bag @WSOP #MainEvent. I'll be back for day 2 on Friday with 201,400!!!
- And this image from the special tournament the @WSOP held for Main Event winners in 2008. The applause for #DoyleBrunson lasted longer than the rest of us combined. Deservedly so.
- Tournament poker can be agonizing. It's easy to make a lot of mistakes. And easy to run bad for a long time, even if you avoid mistakes. I definitely make mistakes. But if you want to do this for a living, you have to withstand the variance, and play your best regardless.
- Very sad news to learn that Gavin Smith has passed unexpectedly. One of the first great poker characters I got to know personally. A fun guy, great to be around him. If you're so inclined, drink a greyhound in his honor. Cheers, my friend.
- This is a huge loss to the poker world. As much as we loved him, and will miss him, I am thinking mostly of his family. They will miss him even more. I hope they take some solace in how much he meant to us poker players. And in the knowledge that he left a true legacy.Mike Sexton passed away peacefully at home earlier today surrounded by family members. He appreciated all the wonderful comments and farewells from poker players all over the world. Service details are forthcoming. For now, please keep his family in your thoughts as they grieve.
