    Twenty seven years ago a "most promising" 29 year old probation officer won one of the very first Forward Prizes for Poetry for his collection 'Kid'. The poet was Simon Armitage, and today he becomes Poet Laureate. So here's looking at you, Kid. With love and admiration from FAF
