    I feel bad for Hailey Van Lith. She was brought in as All-American. She never has single play drawn for her. Asked to defend the best player in the country with little or no help, & the second she makes a mistake offensively she gets yanked. How could she have any confidence?

    To HS football players: When all the female athletes come out & support you on the field all fall, make sure you do the same for them during their seasons. Also, they give YOU the attention at your games, at their games it’s 100% about THEM, cheer them on as they will for you.

    Sick of seeing great High School coaches stepping down. There’s going to come a point where no coach can last more than 5 years because of parental interference and administrators without the backbone to fend them off.

    If you're a parent who is constantly yelling instruction at your child from the stands, and your child is constantly looking to you & not your coach, you have an unrecruitable child. Sorry to have to break that to you if you're that parent.

    Neighbor girls are shooting hoops. As one shoots she yells "Maya Moore". @MooreMaya, not LeBron, not Kobe, not Jordan, not any male player, she yelled "Maya Moore" & then knocked down her jumper. Don't know about you, but to me that's a win for Women's Hoops. I was so happy!

    Dear Basketball Mom or Dad: Put down the camera for a game and just relax and watch with amazement as your child plays the game they love. They won’t mind if 1 game goes unfilmed. Treat your eyes to a game, you’ll never regret it!

    Someday I want to host a huge AAU event, with a shot clock, 10 minute quarters, and absolutely, 100% ban zones. College Coaches would flock from miles around to see if some of these zone-only players could actually guard anyone.

    Just wanted everyone to know I suffered a stroke last week. Luckily I went to hospital immediately & am doing better. I do plan to attend our Elite Exposure Camp Wed. as well as the @AllIowaAttack Tournament of Champions in Des Moines. Blessed I got in early & had great doctors.

    Unfortunately, due to my 2 strokes last year & the lasting effects I've suffered I will not be able to continue covering Girls Basketball in the region any further. I hope to get to an event or two to Tweet if possible. I have been blessed to meet so many great people thru hoops.

    Ended 2020 in the ER following another stroke. Being alone in there & not knowing I’d be ok gives perspective on life. Hopefully I’ll leave the hospital soon & see all of you on the hoops trail at some point in 2021! Make sure to always tell those you love how much you love them!

    8 States use the Shot Clock. 8 States currently have what 50 states will in time. The shot clock is not cost prohibitive (ND/SD prove that), it provides a better flow to the ENTIRE game & is natural progression that ALL higher levels already incorporate. Grow along with the game!

    Ridiculous that some people want an apology out of Adia Barnes. I’ve seen 100x worse from Tom Izzo and Coach K but no one would even consider asking them the same question. Let women have some intensity, it’s ok and her team LOVED the emotion behind her gesture.

    I wish Brittney Griner being detained in Russia would receive the coverage on the news and world-wide stage that a player from the NFL, NBA, MLB or NHL would have in the exact same situation.
