    19.51 train from Ardrossan to Glasgow last night. I'm sitting alone on virtually empty train. 5 very drunk middle aged men pile on, sit with me, start goading me, calling me a 'mute' as I won't engage. Ticket inspector arrives, checks tickets and walks on. Not ok @ScotRail

    All advice given in Just Seventeen was carefully considered and thoroughly checked. Whenever I write about having work on the magazine I'm deluged by former readers saying how much they valued and cherished the magazine

    A reader emailed me to complain about the blasphemy in one of my books. Feeling a bit downcast, I showed the mail to one of my sons. 'For God's sake,' he said, 'it's The Bookshop on Rosemary Lane. Not American Psycho.'

    I am going to finish writing my book today! This one has been quite a toughie as my mum died on Nov 11 and I kinda seized up for a while. Actually feel quite proud that I've (almost) managed it. I know that's a bit boasty!

    My beautiful mum Margery passed away very peacefully on Sunday Nov 11, her 83rd birthday. She was a strong, creative, adventurous woman. Sleep tight darling xx
