- BREAKING. David Carrick, a Metropolitan police officer has admitted at least 80 sex attacks, including 47 rapes, against a dozen women. It means that one of the country's worst sex offenders has been working at the force for 20 years
- The Met apologises again. This time its really disturbing behaviour of officers at Charing Cross station where apparently messages about raping colleagues, killing black children + domestic violence were "jokes and banter". One cop known as the "mcrapey raperson". THREAD
- In 24 hours I've reported on PC David Carrick's brutal sex offending + suspected gun killing of Epsom headmistress and 7yo daughter by her husband. I read in horror about a mother + 2yo lured to Scotland to be murdered. We have a male violence problem that is utterly sickening
- PC Wayne Couzens was seen handcuffing Sarah Everard on a road in Clapham - she was compliant because he used the guise of covid restrictions to “arrest” her. It was seen by witnesses who assumed Everard had done something wrong. They were in fact witnessing her kidnap by a cop
- I'm at Westminster Mags Court where three Metropolitan police officers are accused of sending grossly offensive messages in which they joked about sexually assaulting domestic violence victims and much more. This will be a thread.
- Met Police apologises to black schoolgirl, 15, who was stripsearched while menstruating after teachers smelt cannabis. In breach of guidelines, officers did not get appropriate adult to oversee + mother wasn't told. Review found that search was wrong + racism "likely a factor"
- Met officers who were on the WhatsApp group with Wayne Couzens are giving evidence in their defence, about how their jokes about raping colleagues, assaulting the public and making racist comments were not grossly offensive. This will be another thread.
- BREAKING - PCC of Durham has asked the chief constable to conduct a full inquiry into Dominic Cummings visit. Says there is a "plethora of additional information" in the public domain which deserves investigation
- Having covered multiple fatal and attempted terror attacks involving young men radicalised online, and with counter-terror police having warned of this issue for well over a decade, I'm pretty astounded that the PM has described Southport as "a new threat"
- David Carrick's nickname at the Metropolitan Police was "bastard Dave". Top brass confirmed the nickname but insisted it was not because of sex behaviour + that colleagues were unaware he was a predator. It was because, they say, he was known to be "mean and cruel"
- Interesting - Met confirms that some people got two to five fines but they were NOT cumulative. So if they paid on time each fine was £50 max - Helen Ball says it "would not have been fair" to be cumulative [remember some members of the public got huge cumulative fines]
- Just extraordinary. A Met probationary constable involved in the Sarah Everard search has been referred to the police watchdog over an "inappropriate graphic" shared with colleagues on social media
