- "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters," Colossians 3:23-24 No matter your role and task on your softball team, seek to glorify God in your effort and attitude.
- “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:6 NIV God is always with you - on and off the softball field - no matter who or what you are facing.
- “We do not dare to classify or compare ourselves with some who commend themselves. When they measure themselves by themselves and compare themselves with themselves, they are not wise.” 2 Corinthians 10:12 Your 🥎 journey is uniquely yours. It is beyond compare.
- “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.” Proverbs 27:17 🥎 teammates can either sharpen or dull one another. Is there trust and respect? Can you hold each other accountable with good hearts? Do you care enough to help each other improve?
- “No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.” Hebrews 12:11 Growth occurs through discomfort and discipline. Failure is feedback.
- “Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.” 1 Peter 5:6 2024s and 2025s: Try not to let pride/anxiety sidetrack your college recruiting process. Stay humble by trusting God’s timing and plan you.
- “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 38:11 Remember this verse when softball and life moments seem unexpected or even disappointing. Powerful!
- “- I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through him who gives me strength.” Philippians 4:12-13 Feel God’s power and grace on the 🥎 field and wherever you are!
- “What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them?” James 2:14 When faith drives actions, great things happen.
- “Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.” Colossians 3:2 Softball is many things: Challenging, fun, inspiring, relationship-building, and even life-changing. But ultimately softball is “of this world” - God is not.

- "The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still." -Exodus 14:14 Softball athletes are often told to "control the controllables." But when life's curveballs seem unhittable, consider letting God pinch hit for you.
