In 1990, a badly installed window blew out of a BA flight from the UK to Spain, causing the captain to be sucked halfway out at an altitude of 17,000 feet. The crew had to cling on to the captain's legs for over 30 minutes while emergency landing. All survived.
In 2010, Gareth Williams, a British MI6 spy, was found dead at his London flat with his decomposing body in the bathtub, padlocked inside a bag. Police ruled his death as "accidental" concluding he died by getting into the bag on his own and accidentally locking himself inside.
This is the only existing photo of Chernobyl taken on the morning of the nuclear accident. It is so grainy because of the radiation, which started to destroy the camera film.
In 2011 a New Zealand trucker named Steven McCormack fell on a high-pressure valve which lodged in his butt and inflated him to twice his size nearly killing him. He did survive, but it took a full three days to burp and fart out the excess air.
In 2005, a South African man, Marius Els, adopted a baby hippo after rescuing it from a river. 6 years later, after years of bonding between the two, the hippo who he named 'Humphrey' dragged him into that same river and mauled him to death.
