Guys. ๐Ÿฅบ Iโ€™ve done it. My coauthor and I submitted the manuscript of our book today. We are writing the first ever self help guide for black women with ADHD. Iโ€™ve been working on this for 2 and a half years! Through grief, uncertainty, heartbreak, transitions. Iโ€™ve done it.

If youโ€™re a lover girl, get with lover boys and vice versa. Leave these nonchalant, low key anxious avoidant types to their own devices and flourish.

Versace bib to dribble on. Lord release me from this poverty
Teething- aka the devil - is so hard. Poor Alexis Olympia has been so uncomfortable. She cried so much (she never cries) I had to hold her until she fell asleep. I've tried amber beads... cold towels.... chew on mommies fingers.... homeopathic water (lol on that one) but......

If you kill animals for sport and get a kick out of it I think youโ€™re genuinely a psychopath. Hunting is a middle class endeavour so itโ€™s been normalised. How come killing animals as a child is #1 sign of being a serial killer but when you grow up itโ€™s magically okay?

Bratz was the first toy brand I remember that really popularised black/minority ethnic dolls. They didnโ€™t give the black dolls stereotypical plot lines either. Theyโ€™ve been amazing for years!
Not Bratz making a better statement than any celeb so far

Man. Looking back on it I had no business going to university at 18. I actually think my mid twenties would have been the perfect time. I would have picked a different subject too. Experiencing so much pressure to make a life altering decision like that as a teenager is a lot.

Jay Z admitted himself that he was the cause of his wife's miscarriages. Heartbreak, the stress and paranoia that comes from infidelity wreaks havoc on your body and mental wellbeing. But yeah gass him up for "realising" after decades of being with his wife.

The healing process is ugly as hell. Itโ€™s not bubble baths and aromatherapy. Itโ€™s accountability which brings guilt. Itโ€™s getting to the root of your issues which is triggering and intense. Processing trauma often means you have to relive it which isnโ€™t easy but itโ€™s worth it

Seeing yourself get better at emotional regulation is great. It's like yay I'm acting different in challenging situations and not allowing temporary emotions throw me off course

2024 killed every last bit of delusion in me. Things are so painfully clear.

I went to a womenโ€™s yoga retreat and a woman shared how her partner left her after the baby was born because she didnโ€™t have enough time for him. Men scare me so much. Iโ€™ve read about these stories but to HEAR it and see that womanโ€™s anguish was harrowing. I wonโ€™t forget
