    Recently @FFA_GovNL Resource Enforcement Officer Ryan Collier took action to rescue 7 pot head whales that had become beached in the Town of Embree. Officer Collier's quick response and efforts over a 3-hour period allowed the whales to survive. A great job indeed! #GovNL

    Today our friends from British Columbia headed home. Nearly 50 of these incredible wildland firefighters stood with us through the fires in Kingston, Paddy's Pond and Martin Lake. We thank them for their hard work, spirit and skill.

    Due to recent incidents of moose roaming in residential areas on the Avalon Peninsula any residents encountering a moose on a roadway or trail are encouraged to give the moose the right of way, and back away from the area until the moose has moved on. #GovNL @CityofStJohns

    The lynx which went on an adventure from the Salmonier Nature Park has been recovered thanks to staff, and help from conservation officers from Paddy's Pond. Looking a little guilty for sneaking off, everyone, including his enclosure mate are happy he's back. @CBCNL @VOCMNEWS

    It’s owl good!🦉This Great Horned Owl was found injured near the TCH in November & sent to #SalmonierNaturePark for medical treatment. With TLC from park staff, the owl is ready to go back to the wild. Conservation officer Andrew Dyke released the owl near @Come_By_Chance #GovNL

    NL Forest fire fighters Jeremy Short and Paul Whalen were in uniform having lunch at a restaurant in Sicamous, BC, when a young girl around 6-7 years old handed them a message printed on a napkin. A proud moment for the guys, FFA and the Province. @CalgaryPolice #GovNL

    WILDFIRE UPDATE The Kingston wildfire experienced some growth on the northern boundary as high temperatures and wind continue to create extreme fire behaviour. Construction of fuel breaks in the north progressed greatly today thanks to efforts from those in the community. ⬇️

    Salmonier Nature Park staff are saddened to announce the passing of Buddy, the ever popular & friendly caribou which has made the park his home since 2014. Buddy found a mate at the Park and has two offspring which still reside there. It is believed Buddy died of old age. #GovNL
