Our transmission system is the superhighway of the grid—when it's damaged, thousands of our customers can lose power. While you might not see crews when they're tackling damage in a power line corridor like here in Greenfield, these repairs come first in our restoration process.

Our crews have restored power to more than 42,000 customers impacted by the strong Nor'easter today. Line and tree crews will continue to work around-the-clock until all our customers are restored!
With the help of smart switches, our line crews have restored more than 146k customers since the storm hit this morning. This technology allows us to re-route power into affected areas of the electric system remotely, which gets our customers back on faster.
A big thanks to the @EversourceNH team who arrived this afternoon to support our massive restoration effort. They brought Big Mo, one of our mobile emergency response trailers, down to Falmouth where they’re helping manage restoration in one of the hardest-hit areas on the Cape.
Our crews are in Somerville assessing damage to equipment after a third party contractor hit two underground power lines resulting in an outage affecting approximately 11,800 of our customers. (1/2)
Over 900 crew members are assisting w/ this restoration effort. Workers are going door-to-door, shutting off all 8,600 gas meters and ensuring homes and businesses are clear of natural gas. We anticipate this critical first phase will be substantially complete tonight.

- Phase III: Crews will check appliances for any issues
- Phase IV: Restoring gas service to each of the 8,600 meters
A note for @ColumbiaGasMA gas customers in Andover, North Andover and Lawrence: If you turned off your own gas, please call 1-866-388-3239. We will place you in line for restoration once the distribution system has been repaired and can safely be placed back into service.
