Yesterday, I saw this tree with bags around it. If found out that they are watering bags. They water the tree for 6-9 hours through tiny holes, to prevent it from dying due to #climateChange. And watering like this is more effective than using a watering can. Great idea!

On my research I came across this beautiful quote: "Photography is a form of hunting where that which is shot, lives forever" - Muhammad Mahdi - Isn't this a way more beautiful way of hunting animals than trophy hunting? #biodiversity #wildlife #AnimalWelfare

Did you know 1 wax worm can eat 1.84 mg (0.000064 ounces) of plastic per day? To digest plastic, their salivary first transforms plastic into other materials, which later can be degraded by microorganisms in their gut. More about plastic-eating worms: buff.ly/3XAi9pX

๐Ÿ€Day 85: A while ago, I heard the term "plastic era", which future archaeologists may use for the time we live in now. Today, I saw an example of what this means: this soil has been turned upside down, uncovering plastic that has been buried. Buried for ages and still there.

Wow, a walking fish! #Nature never stops surprising me. And allowing this special creature to walk around on a #plasticfree bottom of the sea is another good reason for me to live #environmentallyFriendly! #naturelovers #naturelover #sustainableLiving

After another extremely busy year, taking many initiatives towards a healthier planet, I'm taking a break. I'll be back on January 9th. Have a wonderful last part of this year, a good start of 2023, and stay healthy!

What a great idea to use an old tree stump for a free library to exchange books with neighbors. And I think it looks gorgeous as well! #sustainableLiving #zerowaste #upcycling #booklovers
I love that Sharalee Armitage Howard (who's a librarian, artist & bookbinder) transformed an old cottonwood tree into a Little Free Library.

Saving wildlife doesnโ€™t have to take much, but makes a big difference for #biodiversity. Learn more about how wildlife rehabilitation centers can help:

Here you can see a river being renaturalized. Costs: 2 million euros. That's a lot, but when comparing it with this it's not: in July a small German town with 130.000 inhabitants got flooded. The damage: 3,7 billion euros! As we say in Dutch: preventing is better than curing

Many good deeds by humans are unnoticed. E.g. volunteers in wildlife rehabilitation centers save thousands of animals each year. They treat, feed, train them, and release them when they're strong enough. A beautiful and emotional moment! Learn more:
