The NC House just passed SB 173 “Free the Smiles Act” in a veto-proof, bipartisan vote, which will return the decision making to parents and affirm their right to choose whether or not to mask their school-aged children, giving them the ability to opt-out of these policies.

- This is why reasonable people are leaving the Democrat Party in NC. This is a sitting state legislator who is publicly applauding the beheading of President Trump just hours after a state legislator in our country and her spouse were murdered in cold blood. Horrible. #ncpolNC Democrat Representative Julie Von Haefen (@juliefornc) calls for the beheading of President Trump. Politcal violence should be condemned, not encouraged. #ncpol
- I will vote to not concur with the Senate changes to HB 237. Every person has the freedom to wear a mask to ensure their physical health and safety if they want to. Removing the medical mask exemption provision from current state law has created confusion among the public. HB
- Today, I proudly joined my House colleagues in voting to override six more of Gov. Roy Cooper’s vetoes. This included legislation to expand charter schools, prohibit men from competing in women’s sports, ban gender transition surgeries for minors, block costly new home building
- The continuing silence from Gov. Stein and Roy Cooper on this horrific crime in NC’s largest city is deafening. Ignoring the effects of their soft-on-crime policies is par for the course for Democrats. #ncpolIryna Zarutska was safer in Ukraine (a literal war zone) than Charlotte. This is the cost of soft-on-crime “leadership.” Anyone who puts criminals before victims has no business in public office. We must protect the innocent.
- Wow - looks like NC’s most liberal #SupremeCourt judges are standing shoulder-to-shoulder with Rep. Julie von Haefen who celebrated the beheading of President Trump this weekend, hours after another state legislator in our country was murdered in cold blood due to political
- Just paid an arm and a leg for my personal home #WakeCounty property taxes. We’ve lived here for well over a decade and every time our taxes have gone up. I can only imagine how painful this is for seniors on a fixed income. We need fiscal discipline, relief for seniors, and
- This is embarrassingly weak. Just sign the bill and help restore public safety and protect the people of NC. #ncpolNEW: Democrat North Carolina Governor Josh Stein gives rambling, long-winded answer after being asked if he will sign ‘Iryna’s Law.’ Bash: “Will you sign it?” Stein: “Here's the thing, that young woman was a light. I met with her family. She was a special person. She was

- Gov. Cooper has vetoed HB 574 “Fairness In Women’s Sports Act” which requires biological males to compete against biological males, not biological females, in high school and college sports. As a mom of two teenagers who are both competitive athletes, I am not only a primary
- Every North Carolinian deserves safe and secure elections. It is unfortunate that Gov. Cooper has mischaracterized a good, common-sense bill in order to divide North Carolinians and score political points. Election integrity is important. I look forward to overriding this veto.Gov. Cooper is mischaracterizing a bill that simply strengthens election integrity in NC. It’s unfortunate that he would rather score political points by crying ‘racism’ than be honest about the balanced, common-sense election reforms passed in the House and Senate. #ncpol
- Today, I was proud to join my House colleagues in voting to override six of Gov. Roy Cooper’s vetoes - the most ever in a single day. This included legislation to support farmers, encourage local government audits, combat woke ESG investment agenda, and prevent compelled speech
- This is the Fuquay-Varina DMV one weekday morning recently - completely unacceptable. I have requested a site visit from DMV Commissioner Wayne Goodwin himself to discuss why our DMV in Fuquay-Varina is short staffed and is not allowed to fill its full complement of authorized
00:00 - Gov. Stein vetoed two common-sense bills that will strengthen illegal immigration policy in NC and reinforce law and order. Governor Stein has aligned himself with the fringe left on this issue. The vast majority of North Carolinians do not want NC to be a sanctuary state. TheToday, I took action on four bills that came to my desk. Read more: governor.nc.gov/news/press-rel…
