Rivers can contain hidden hazards as well as dangerous flows and undercurrents, particularly in and around structures such as weirs, locks and flood channels. Vigilance saves lives and water-related accidents can be avoided by knowing how to stay safe and #RespectTheWater.

It's official; beavers are back in Essex! A pair of beavers have been released into an enclosure on a country estate in Finchingfield to help reduce the risk of flooding building dams. We hope they are enjoying their new home! #nfm #partnershipworking #Essexbeavers

Our team recently rescued 1200 elvers at an eel pass in Cambridgeshire. A tree fell on an overheard power cable causing a power failure at Brownshill Staunch. Officers quickly responded and were able to rescue all but 10 elvers before power was restored. 1/2 #Elvers

If you see fish gasping in this weather please let us know. It might be that dissolved oxygen levels in the water are low. Our staff can aerate water to raise levels and support aquatic life. Please report sightings of fish in distress to our incident hotline number 0800 80 70 60

Has anyone done more to inspire so many others to get into fishing? John Wilson was well known and well loved across our region and around the world. Very sad news.
