- I’ve just had of those train journeys you’re never going to forget The guy next to us starts talking. He says he wants to say something - and that we are free to ignore him after he finishes. Naturally people sitting around stare awkwardly at the floor, pretending not to hear
- I see Priti Patel is praising “Our Brilliant NHS“. Can someone please ask her how it is expected to survive after her proposed immigration changes?
- Dear @jeremycorbyn The sheer level of personal abuse I’m now receiving from your supporters (many in your name) is simply unacceptable. As leader,I’d appreciate it if you could please make it clear that this abuse of a fellow Labour member is entirely unacceptable and should stop
- I am going to visit my Grandfathers grave today. To be honest I’m slightly concerned at what state it will be in - all that turning might have made a bit of a mess? Will update later
- Replying to @Emily_BennAnd - SUCCESS! I was today reunited with Dr at the Royal London Hospital, who safely has possession of her phone mobile.twitter.com/Emily_Benn/sta…UPDATE! I’ve just been to the Royal London Hospital to deliver the phone to Dr Gevers in person! Just goes to show that sometimes sometimes the best course of action is just to have a chat if someone’s feeling low. You never know how it might end up helping in all sorts of ways
- I couldn’t be prouder of HB. A lifetime of public service continues
- Replying to @Emily_BennThis was only possible because one person was brave enough to say he was feeling low & needed to talk, and a group of strangers who wanted to chat/help For all the terrible things in the world right now, nice to be reminded how small acts of kindness really can make a difference
- 23 Serena Williams 22 Steffi Graf Hope that helps, @spectatorindexMost Grand Slam titles. Roger Federer: 20 Rafael Nadal: 20 Novak Djokovic: 18 Pete Sampras: 14 Roy Emerson: 12 Rod Laver: 11 Bjorn Borg: 11
- The question is, Tony, do you think you knew him better than I did?I think I knew Tony Benn better than you. He would have been very sad to see a granddaughter who was once of the Left become a traitor to socialism family notwithstanding - now piss off Mr Mighty Butch!!
- Er, I just had breakfast with my Father, and can confirm there was no turning, but there was very much eating of bread and croissants, if you’re interested
- Replying to @Emily_Benn(PS: I am clearly a Benn because we have already had a spirited discussion about NHS policy and are going to keep in touch on health matters!)
- Replying to @Emily_Benn45 minutes where we could have been staring at our phones. But instead, we chatted, laughed, helped a guy out Moral of this; You never know what someone’s going through. Always worth asking if someone is ok! Thought it was it? Wait! I notice There’s a phone left on the seat
- I put up with a lot. But I am not putting up from this from @peter_sarris How can anyone - in this case a Cambridge Professor - think this is an acceptable response to me? I urge all tolerant people to join me in saying this type of thing is NOT OK
