Real talk though portraying the gym bros as those who laugh at the people who are overweight in the gym is in my experience flat out wrong. The most jacked people are often the ones more wanting to help those starting out in their path.
It's a bad stereotype that keeps a lot of people out of the gym out of fear of being shamed. A lot of gym bros are genuinely bros and want to see you get jacked like they are.
This happens regardless of race, being overqualified is seen as a bad thing as it increases the odds of the employee feeling underpaid and increases the odds they'll find a diff position elsewhere
