Today, the #lira is stronger after the Central Bank of Turkey raised the one-week repo rate to 19% from 17%. That's the short term, but over the next few years, our current forecast sees a much weaker #lira with $USDTRY heading towards 11-13.

$USDTRY has recently been very volatile. It fell near 7.20 when the Central Bank of Turkey increased the 1-week repo rate to 19% from 17%. It then rose strongly to 8.46 after the Central Bank governor was sacked. IF it falls back below 7.60, it would be a good place to buy it.

With the $USDTRY break below 7.52 we've revised our forecast & changed the correction to a double zig-zag. Price is approaching our first reversal target near 7.2887+/-, but we can't rule out a deeper correction which may test targets near 7.1495+/- or maximum near 6.93+/-. #lira

For $USDTRY, we expect a 3-wave ABC correction below 8.5814 might eventually finish below 7.30 before rising to new highs above 8.5814, meaning the #lira will eventually become weaker. We'll update this chart in coming weeks. #ElliottWave

For 3 months (since 11 May), $USDTRY has been rangebound from 8.2735-8.8057. We expect a retest or a slight break of the upper boundary of 8.8057 but we don't expect to see the uptrend resume. Instead, we then expect price heads lower to the April 2 low near 7.9775. #lira #USDTRY
