18 years in the making. No other city/atmosphere comes close.

In 14 years of calling games for the Edmonton Oilers, that’s the best one I’ve ever seen them play. 60 minutes away from the Final.

Skinner just made a great save. Promise.

McDavid on 4 nations captaincy: “should be Sid. Not even a question.”

Battle of Alberta. First time since 1991. Giddy up.

The Oilers won and I couldn’t care less. I just hope that young boy Ben gets better. I’m glad he had a great night. Proud to live in a city that gave that kind of standing O.

Thanks for all of your kind words throughout this 107-game run. It was easy to root for this team (they’re good people as well as players), so I’m sad for them and the city, whose interest makes me feel that what I do matters. Tonight is just brutal, but the Oilers will be back.

Leon Draisaitl, credited with an assist on the Kane empty-netter to seal it, becomes the first player in Stanley Cup playoff history with four consecutive three-point games.

In the last three games of the series, Edmonton’s top line piled up 25 points. Calgary’s? Two. McDavid from Draisaitl. The way it had to end.

I hate when the season is over. It’s because I love my job. Thanks for watching and listening. Your loyalty means a lot.

Heard it at 2-9-1. At 5-12-1. When Vancouver led 1-0, 2-1, and 3-2. When Dallas led 2-1 and 2-0 in Game 4. I can assure you, they’re not going away now, either. Forget the officiating. Do what Florida did, hold serve at home, make it best of three. 18,347 ready to help.

A couple of weeks ago as the season opened we were reminded that Connor McDavid had reached 469 points by his 24th birthday. At 24, Wayne Gretzky had 1050. #happybirthday
