    At a time when so many people have lost their jobs & funding is needed for front line health & care services I cant accept a wage increase. I am again returning the full post FEMPI pay restoration & increase (€8188.44) to the exchequer. I am paid more than enough.

    Well that was embarrassing. 3 Govt Ministers in chamber didn’t vote for Govt amendment to SF motion on affordable housing. Nor did they vote against the SF motion. So our proposal to double capital investment to deliver 20,000 homes to meet social & affordable need passed!

    I have written to the Presidents of UCD, DCU, NUIG, NUM, UL, TCD & UCC requesting meetings to discuss proposed on-campus student rent increases. High rents are a barrier to education. There has to be a better solution to financing of student accommodation. @TheUSI

    What happened last night in #SandwithStreet is an outrage. This is racism pure & simple. Burning the tents of homeless people who have come to Ireland seeking international protection. This is not who we are as a people. We are better than this.

    The Dáil just voted down @sinnfeinireland 3 year ban on rent increases bill by 83 votes to 60 @fiannafailparty @FineGael & @greenparty_ie & Regional Independent’s voted against the ban So when you get your next rent hike you know who to blame.

    FF are proposing 100 year social housing leases! Average annual cost of 25 year leases is €8k So FF want to pay c€800k to lease a house from a private developer that they could build for €234k Little wonder FF bankrupted the state when last in power! businesspost.ie/ireland/fffg-p…
