Update on Lenny the Greyhound - He slept for hours during his first few days. He ate regularly, drank lots, had short toilet breaks & his wounds cleaned daily. 13 days later he was standing & walking without support. Not only does Lenny have a big heart, he has a strong heart 🧡

On Monday we shared a photo of Ablie “This is a photo of a broken little soul 🥲 Being in a shelter can take it's toll on some dogs and Albie is certainly feeling it right now. We are giving him lots of cuddles & play time but the last few days he seems to have just given up 💔”

He got all dressed up to meet a family who were coming to meet him but they never showed up 😭 This is the second time a family have been due to meet him and not shown up. Please don’t get our hopes up 🥹

Stolen and reunited after 2 years. When we scanned her for a microchip & looked up her details on the FIDO database we couldn't believe that she had been flagged as "Lost/Stolen 2 years ago from Galway". Baya was found in the middle of a busy road here in Dublin. #Dog #dspca

Lenny The Greyhound 🧡 On the 16th of January we first met him, a shell of a dog unable to stand. He was emaciated, covered in open wounds and severely dehydrated. #dspca #greyhound

At 19 years old Paisley never imagined he would be spending the rest of days without his owner who loved him his whole life but sadly his owner had to go into care. Is there anyone out there who has a big heart to share with an old heart? #dspca #cat #petadoption

Update: It was heartbreaking to see 19 year Paisley in the shelter after his owner had to go into care 😞 Thanks to everyone who helped and shared his story he headed off to a new loving home to spend the rest of his days #dspca #adoptasenior #CatsOnX

We’re heartbroken for Phoenix 💔 He’s here since July when his owners surrendered him. He’s such a great dog & so much fun. Is there anyone out there looking for a second dog to play with their existing dog because Phoenix loves to play! dspca.ie/adopt/dogs 🐾 #dogsarefamily

On the 26th of July we were faced one of the worst cases of neglect we had seen in a very long time. Sarah-Jane was found as a stray lying in a garden. She was emaciated and starving with a severe case of mange. #dspca #animalrescue

JFK came in as an injured stray in Feb. His little face was so swollen & he had awful wounds & swelling around his neck. We are delighted to say that last week he found his forever human Eddie 🧡 Have a wonderful life, Eddie is going to take real good care of you 🥹 #dspca

We are so terribly sad to hear the news of the passing of Paul O’Grady. A kind gentleman who truly loved animals. Our deepest sympathy to his family & friends and all who worked with him over the years in @Battersea_ May he rest in peace 🐾
