- I was at a coaching clinic once and Bobby Knight told me.... If your team is doing something you don't like, its your fault. Either you're teaching it, or allowing it in practice... Figure it out!
- As a High School coach you can pour your heart into a season, end up losing in the state tournament and still have to get up and teach history the next day…. No time to decompress, that’s tough. I feel for you guys because I would need a couple days off at least!
- I’m hearing this constantly from coaches regarding kids at all levels…. “They don’t compete” & “They don’t care” “They don’t love it enough to work hard” D1, D2, NAIA, and D3 coaches have all told me this regarding coaching kids today. - Kids don't move the ball and make the right play anymore largely because we don't celebrate kids who play that way enough. It's too easy to look at a point total from a stat sheet... No consideration to how many shots it took to get there at all. Just "How many he end up with?"
- There are only a handful of actual Pg’s today. Most of these dudes just little shooting guards. They only use ball screens to get more shots! Watched games all weekend and most of these pg’s lead the team in shot attempts. Real floor generals are hard to come by
- Rick Pitino- working Will Wade- working Sean Miller- working Literally every Head Coach involved in that whole investigation is working…. It’s already 30 openings in college basketball and there IS NO WAY you can tell me that Book Richardson isn’t qualified to be on staff!
