I guess Elon Musk can only say no and if you don't ask you don't know. After the Minister told me in a phone call on Monday that the telecommunications cable to Tonga was down I immediately sent a letter to Elon to see if he would contribute Starlink to the emergency

Elon Musk has kindly replied "Could people from Tonga let us know if it is important for Spacex to send over Starlink terminals" It sounds like he can figure out how to make this happen. This would be a good thing for Tonga. Can the community reply then please to @elonmusk

I’m honoured to have been asked by Christopher Luxon to serve as Minister of Health and Minister for Pacific Peoples in his new government. There’s a lot of tough work ahead- but I’m looking forward to it.

Labour rammed Three Waters through Parliament under urgency today. National will repeal it in our first 100 days.

Ayesha Verrall quietly released her damning Māori Health Authority report late yesterday. Almost every page contains a damning indictment of flawed processes, faulty management and failure to deliver – not one Māori health outcome has improved and further delays are predicted.

For nearly every weekend over 3 months to Easter, I joined an ambulance crew across the country, usually on a night shift, to see for myself how NZers and our health system is coping after dark. This was quite a body of work. The map below shows the areas and EDs that I visited.

The Ombudsman has opened an investigation into Ayesha Verrall’s refusal to release the Ernst Young review of the Maori Health Authority. Half the board were sacked last week - what do you think the review shows!

#REVEALED: Labour blames Health NZ’s $130m monthly deficit on ‘underfunding’ but Labour’s own fiscal plan promised to invest less. Verrall’s comments are either desperate spin or an embarrassing mistake. This is not a money problem, it’s thanks to Labour’s botched reforms.

Today marks one year since the birth of Health NZ, and yet not one single health metric has improved. Surgical wait lists have hit record highs, and emergency department waiting times are getting longer. National will restore health targets and rebuild our workforce.

Very pleased. Elon Musk providing satellite to Tonga. Fiji Minister for Communications, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum confirmed to FBC News that the team from SpaceX are in Fiji to work on an internet gateway for the Kingdom of Tonga. fbcnews.com.fj/business/space…

National is committed to rebuilding Whangarei Hospital. It’s what I’ve campaigned on, and it’s what National will deliver.

2 hrs before SH1 was closed last night, isolating Northland, I texted Kieran McAnulty, Minister for Emergency Management, warning him what was happening. I have kept him in touch with Northland's needs and he always replies. Good to have an open path to the responsible minister.

Thank you to the people of Whangarei who have placed their trust in me to be their voice in Wellington. This image is from election night as the blue wave swept over. Now we get to work.

TV crew at parliament heckled by crowd. Media are just doing their job as was security. Respect is important. Protest the message not the messenger
