- Our stay-at-home order will be extended for now and I will revisit it in mid-May. We have made progress, but now is not the time to weaken the social distancing policies that are working.
- Many people tell me: "I'm done with this virus." And I can only say: "This virus is not done with us."
- Racism is a public health emergency.
- Stay home. If you have to go out, make sure it’s really darn important. Then go straight home and wash your hands for at least 20 seconds with soap and water. Then FaceTime your grandmother.
- Social distancing is not a suggestion. It could save your life. The playgrounds in @SaintLouCo parks were shut down and signs posted. Still, our park rangers had to shoo folks away. Now yellow caution tape envelops these play areas. This means stay away. No one is an exception.
- Nobody should have to risk their health or the health of others just to vote. Today I’ve asked the Secretary of State to clarify that voters can request an absentee ballot in order to comply with social distancing practices to prevent the spread of #COVID19.
- A judge ruled today that @STLCounty’s mask mandate remains in place. We are pleased with the court’s ruling. Masks and vaccines together are the way out of this pandemic.
- Please do not yell at the servers, cashiers, guards, bus drivers, teachers, ushers, nurses. Or at anyone. Businesses should not have to post these kinds of signs.
- We are very pleased with the Court’s ruling today, dismissing the Attorney General’s unfounded lawsuit. Despite some comments to the contrary, not one of @STLCounty’s COVID-19 public health orders has ever been invalidated. #LocalControl #PublicHealt
- #COVID19 is expected to crest in our region this week. Sadly, it will translate to more people testing positive. And more deaths. Until we have more testing to understand the depth of this virus in our community, we cannot weaken rules like our stay at home order in @SaintLouCo.
- I will veto bills 222 and 223. They will not become law. My first priority is to protect the health and welfare of our residents and these bills undermine those efforts and jeopardize the safety of all of us.
- Vaccines, masks, avoiding crowds. It’s a simple way to work together to control the virus. Otherwise, that normal we all long for is nowhere within reach.
- St. Louis County should be a place we embrace & celebrate our diversity, learn lessons from our complicated history & commit ourselves to action. June 19 marks the anniversary of the end of slavery in U.S. This year, in @SaintLouCo, we will observe #Juneteenth as a holiday.
