Imagine watching troops amass on the Ukrainian border and thinking, "this is a great opportunity for Alberta oil and gas!"
Then imagine tweeting that.

- A person, by virtue of living in Alberta, does not pay more into CPP than other Canadians. That same person does not receive less out of CPP by virtue of living in Alberta. The whole "Albertans are subsidizing other people's pensions" shtick is pretty tiresome.
- My neighbour shoveled yesterday. It snowed again last night. The sidewalk is covered. This proves shoveling doesn't work. Now he's out there shoveling again. My sidewalk, too. Again. Sheep. Freedom.
- More than any other 10 minutes in her premiership, Danielle Smith's call with Artur Pawlowski makes it clear she is unfit for office. Here are 5 reasons why. +
- A lot of people are mocking Poilievre for drawing large, all-white crowds. It's not something to take lightly.
- Let's be clear about what happened today. Premier Smith introduced a bill to strip Albertans of Charter rights, denied MLAs the opportunity to debate it and the courts the ability to scrutinize it, and did all of this from her seat on a jet to Saudi Arabia. The UCP government has invoked time allocation on a bill removing Albertans' Charter rights. And they're using the notwithstanding clause to do it. Here's why that is a dangerous precedent. And why real conservatives need to stand up against it. jaredwesley.ca/newsletter
- Alberta's minister of mental health and addictions, everyone.
- Let's be clear: there is absolutely no scenario in which Alberta receives half of CPP assets. There is no legal basis for such a demand, and there's no political path to that outcome. This isn't about math. It's about posturing.
- Populists like Danielle Smith succeed when they are able to do three things: 1) convince a dominant group they are being marginalized 2) convince that group they are in "the silent majority" 3) convince the public that the group is both a victim and too dominant to challenge.+
- Replying to @DrJaredWesleyWe're going to have a lot of conversations like this in the months ahead. I just hope they all go as well as this one. Be kind and understanding. 3/3 #covid19ab
- We're supposed to believe that two (2) Conservative Party leaders and their entourages mistakenly okayed photos with the same anti-LGBTQ2+ bigot on the same day at Stampede? This is Rage Farming 101. And if it wasn’t orchestrated, it’s endemic to the conservative movement.
- By my count, the UCP's Sovereignty Act is liable to be struck down as unconstitutional on at least three grounds: +
- Seeing a lot of people dismissing the luxury box scandal as a nothingburger. As in, "so what if UCP elites got to see a few playoff games for free?" Thing is, if allegations are true: it wasn't free. Albertans all paid for it, along with a boatload of Turkish Tylenol.
- Corb Lund: "I met with Brian Jean to discuss the coal issue... and I was alarmed by how little he knew... I knew more about the coal issue than he did, and I’m just a guitar player... It’s chilling to me that ill-informed politicians are making decisions about our water.” 🔗👇
