Today, we closed our Series G at @Helion_Energy , raising $465M to build the industrial and manufacturing foundation needed to produce fusion generators at an assembly-line scale.
I’m excited to share we’re working to build a 500 MW fusion power plant at Nucor steelmaking facility!
This is a major step in decarbonizing industrial manufacturing, and I am so proud to work with Nucor on this journey.

Something that @sama once said that has stuck with me: History belongs to the doers; not those who sit around and talk and organize.
What I love about our team is that we do. We build, iterate, test, fail, and try again. We don't just talk about where we're going, we go there.
This is pretty much the same mechanism that happens when you stop burning fuel to boil water. Our fusion power plants waste less energy by design. With no steam cycle, or turbine, you get direct electricity for the grid.
.@Microsoft has agreed to purchase electricity from @Helion_Energy’s first fusion power plant. We expect this first-of-its-kind power facility to come online in 2028 with support from @ConstellationEG as our power marketer.
One of the most in-depth discussions I’ve had about where Helion stands today and what it will take to scale. Thank you, @lexfridman for the wide-ranging conversation and physics deep dives!

Fusion is the ultimate hardware job.
Into building pulsed power, high-voltage electronics, precision magnets, or plasma diagnostics?
Come make machines that put electricity on the grid.
What an awesome photo of our deuterium plasma injector testing! This is the first at this scale of FRC to be made by fully semiconductor switching – think billions of pulses (decades) instead of tens of thousands (months). We are also testing out new controls, diagnostics, and
US Patent 12,418,973 B2 allowed: Apparatus and methods for generating a pulsating, high-strength magnetic field.
This is the timed fields that form and compress our FRC plasmas and support direct energy recovery.
Great to get it out! Now back to building!!
This represents a major stride in Helion’s technology development. Trenta pulsed once every ten minutes. This test showed we can pulse the power systems for Polaris once per second for long durations. Huge!
Pulsed power test complete! Operating at 1 Hz, the Vela test capacitor bank moved more than 11 GJ total energy through our system. This milestone showcased the reliability of our new solid-state switches for Polaris and provides a scalable path to direct electricity recovery.
