    Today @theRCN we’ve announced new dates for our delayed industrial action strike ballot. Eligible members across the UK will be balloted between Thursday 6 October and Wednesday 2 November

    Our postal ballot on industrial action will open on 15 September. We will urge RCN members working for the NHS in England and Wales, on Agenda for Change contracts, to vote in favour of strike action. #FairPayForNursing.

    As a front line Registered Nurse I can confirm that Peter is (as always) spot on and speaking truth to power. The nursing bursary in England scrapped by the Government (which reimbursed tuition fees) has not been reinstated. It’s worrying the Prime Minister doesn’t know this….

    Squirming Prime Minister tries to justify not giving nurses a pay rise saying Government has “reinstituted nurses bursaries.” Complete boll****. Government scrapped bursary which previously reimbursed their tuition fees so nurses now qualify tens of thousands of pounds in debt!

    Nurses are caregivers and life savers, skilled and safety critical professionals. Our focus is patient safety - safe, effective care which we deliver 365 days/nights ~ the pandemic shone a spotlight on what we already do. Now it’s time for the Government to remunerate our worth.
