We need a new term for “avoid it like the plague” because apparently people don’t do that

A fully functioning body. A strong immune system.
What is a privilege that people act as if it isn't ???

Someone fed my dad pepper today even though he asked them not to put it in the Thanksgiving food & he got sick & had to go home. They thought “a little” would be ok. No means no. If someone has food allergies/sensitivities, dietary preferences, religious reasons, etc—no means no!

I think I’m way more depressed about how much people suck during a pandemic than I am about the actual pandemic

    1) You know how they say “it takes a village” for when people have kids? I think it takes a village for other things in life too. When you’re chronically ill, temporarily ill, lose a loved one, etc. I feel like everyone needs/wants a village in life. Just not everyone is

This image is so powerful. I think of it in terms of being chronically ill/disabled and trying to make the best of that, especially because everyone wants you to. It’s exhausting making lemonade out of lemons indefinitely.

    1) Dear healthy people, you know how when you get the flu you feel like shit, you call out of work, you get some extra rest, etc and then you feel better within a few days or so? Well, chronically ill people feel at that level every day for the rest of their lives, there is no

A hard truth for some healthy/able-bodied ppl to accept: sometimes ppl are just born/become sick or are born disabled/become disabled regardless of religion, diet, exercise, positive thinking etc. It’s just part of life & victim blaming/shaming won’t stop it from happening to you

“Stop making your illness your identity” Do you realize how much my illness has affected my identity? Do you know that I had to learn to accept that it’s a part of me because it affects every aspect of my life?
