As you know I’ve been trying to lose weight recently, I’d got quite porky and at my age that’s not a good thing. I’ve lost 5st 3 pounds (33kg) in 5 months. Tweeting this to encourage others who are trying to shift a bit too. If I can do it at almost 50, anyone can. 👍🏼
- Crazy to think Wednesday will be the last episode of Benidorm! I created the series over 11 years ago, wrote it, guest starred in it and ended up directing it. It's difficult to think what else there is to do! Thank you for watching! #MuchasGracias 🌴

- My comedy @BenidormTVshow has been called everything from “ITV spoon fed diarrhoea” (a well known stand up) to “like an embarrassing uncle stuck in the 1970’s” (a national newspaper). But when an NHS nurse or a care worker thanks me for making them laugh after a long shift… ❤️
- I saw Cannon & Ball in pantomime in Hull when I was about 12. I had never laughed so much in my life. That made me dare to dream I could make people laugh for a living. Fast forward 35yrs and I was directing Bobby was in my own tv show. Rock on Bobby, thank you so much. 😢
- Incredibly saddened to hear of the passing of Brian Murphy. A genuine legend of comedy acting. Man About the House + George & Mildred were a childhood favourites then I had the immense honour of writing for him in The Catherine Tate Show & Benidorm. Much love to Linda & family💔
- As series 10 of Benidorm approaches (and it IS approaching!) many asking if this will be the last series. It's basically up to YOU! If you think the show has run it course you don't watch that's the end. If you watch it, love it and make a noise about it we'll keep going 🌴
- Terribly saddened to hear of the passing of TV and theatre legend Una Stubbs. She was wonderful in Benidorm as she was in every other role she made her own. A glorious life lived well. ❤️🌴
- I always declined interviews (on screen + off) for Benidorm apart from Alison Hammond. Even though she arrived on the day I was looking my fattest & ugliest I didn't care, she is wonderful. (In saying that I have no idea if they used it hahaha)
